Relax and enjoy this amazing water front home on the Caribbean Sea in West Bay Roatan. Casa Cascada is luxury in paradise! Enjoy some of the best views from the privacy of your own private pool with cascading waterfall. The property offers early morning sunrise vistas from the private pool deck over the Honduran mainland. The villa faces South East, so your pool and deck are bathed in sun all day until late afternoon.
Casa Cascada boasts 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, central air conditioning (split unit AC in the bedrooms) and wifi. The master bedroom has a king bed with satellite TV and DVD player. The en-suite bathroom features a double vanity, jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower and walk-in closet. The room has separate access via a full glass door to the outside spa and pool deck. Also on the main level is a queen bedroom (full bathroom not en-suite) which also has a TV and DVD player.
On the second level is a guest king bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet and private deck with stunning sea views. A fourth guest bedroom with a queen bed is also located on the second floor and offers an en-suite bathroom and private deck with the same commanding views of the water. There is also a gallery landing with an office area and queen sofa bed.
The living area offers and open floor plan with vaulted ceiling and a wall of windows for an amazing view of the Bay of Honduras and the Honduran mainland. There are two comfortable couches in the here, one of which is a queen sofa sleeper. Off the living area is a full wet bar, and off that is the dining area. The dining table has seating for 6, which can be increased to 8 with the addition of an extra leaf. A granite countertop separates the dining area from the kitchen, keeping all guests together. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, ice maker, oven, stove top, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and chilled water dispenser. Guests will find the kitchen very well appointed, with everything they'll need to cook a fabulous meal.
The outside space is amazing with both shaded and sun bathing decks near the private pool to kick back and relax. There is an outdoor bar constructed of Honduran hardwoods and granite countertops, with ice maker, sink and refrigerator. A second bar/counter with stools overlooks the sea, and a gas BBQ grill. Rounding out the pool deck area is a dining table with seating for 6. It will hard for guests to decide whether to spend their time indoors or out! Below the pool deck is an outside shower and rinse tank for diving gear.
Please note that while the home has enough comfortable sleeping for up to 10 persons, the base rate is based on 8 persons. There is an charge of $50 per person per night for extra guests. Additionally, past guests have commented that the home cannot accommodate 10 persons comfortable on the living area couches, and a group of that size would split their dining experiences between the indoor and outdoor dining tables.

Fabulous property (that's why we came back a second year). Well stocked and maintained. Worked out perfectly for four couples. Loved having Chef Blackie prepare food at our place and seems she is quite familiar with the property. The pool and outdoor area are amazing and the view!
I would suggest a couple of items. There was not an initial adequate supply of toilet paper and paper towels which had to be requested. I understand not overstocking as it is expensive but a little more would have been helpful so we didn't need to bother staff.

This was our 6th stay at Casa Cascada. The beautiful view from the pool deck and bedrooms is a big draw, as well as the feeling of privacy, even though other homes are nearby. Everything on the property functioned properly, and the home was exceptionally clean. We have rented other vacation properties on the island, but keep coming back to this one. Beautiful location away from the "busy-ness" of West Bay but a short walk to get there for dining and activity. Having the spotty or non-existent internet was a problem (a few of the days) as one of our group was trying to sell their home back in the US and another was doing some work at the house. Not the house's problem but the local server - our only hitch of the week. Overall a wonderful experience at Casa Cascada. Great value also - beautiful home that was 1/2 the price of previous vacation homes we've rented in other tropical locations. REPLY: Thank you for your excellent review of Casa Cascada. You are right, it's a great location to get away from the beach area. So sorry about the internet, it is usually very good there, but we're happy it didn't spoil your vacation. This house had it all. It was fully stocked in the kitchen and had a great washer/dryer. The maintenance worker and his family do live under the property but he was beyond friendly and a hard worker and it was actually nice when we did have an issue that he was there to immediately address it. The view was just incredible! The house was clean and well air conditioned. You are very close to everything and the private beach was a great addition that is only about 2 houses over. This is our 4th time dealing with Island House, and the experience only gets better each trip. The check-in process is quick (they say your ice cream will not melt, and it is true). Brad arranged for a local fish monger to come to the house and sell us HUGE shrimp and lobster, which we enjoyed every day. Carlene and her staff maintain the house very well. The gas grill broke down the day before we arrived, but Brad and Shanna arranged for a replacement grill less than 2 hours after our check in. We had a slight issue with the internet, but this was dealt with in less than 2 hours as well.

This was our 3rd time staying at Casa Cascada, and it never disappoints. The views of the ocean from the living room and most bedrooms are beautiful. Though you are close to West Bay Beach, there is a feeling of privacy to the property. An outdoor kitchen/bar was added a few years ago, making it a great area to entertain family and friends. We have stayed other places on the island, but none compare to this home. We plan on making this a yearly destination.

Exceeded our Expectations
We were impressed by the quality of furnishings and construction. The house was very well equipped, including peices for cooking. The only disadvantage would be the steep hill to get to town, but as far as the rental property itself, it was 5 star. There is a very nice beach just 3 minutes walk away.
