Finding our office is easy once you’re in Roatan

Roatan Driving Directions to Our Office

From both the ferry docks and the airport take a left onto the main road, there is one road that runs the length of the island so keep going! About 2 kilometers from the airport you will see a sign for BoJangles Chicken and Petrosun gas station. The next right takes you up the hill to Plaza Mar and Eldon’s grocery stores.

Continuing along past the gas station, you will travel past the outskirts of Coxen Hole. After about 7 kilometers you will pass through Sandy Bay and see the entrance to Anthony’s Key Resort on your right-hand side. About another 4 kilometers along the road there is a turn on the left with a sign posted West Bay and Flowers Bay; take this left turn. After another kilometer and a half, you will see a crossroad with a sign pointed right to West Bay, take this right turn up the hill. You are now 4 kilometers from our office.

This section of the road will now take you along the ridge of the island (spectacular views) towards West Bay. You will come down a long hill until the road flattens out to sea level again. On your right you will see the West Bay Beach Mall on the road side. A short distance past the mall on the left is a turquoise and yellow wooden house, you will see a sign for Island House Vacation Rentals & Property Management. Our office is located on the upper level. See picture below.

Roatán Instrucciones para Llegar a Nuestra Oficina

Saliendo tanto del Ferry como del Aeropuerto, girar a la izquierda en la carretera principal, la cual es una sola que corre a lo largo de la isla, así que continuar hasta que en un par de kilómetros después de aeropuerto verá a mano derecha la gasolinera Petrosun y restaurante Bojangles. En ese momento puede girar a la derecha que lleva hasta la colina a Plaza Mar y el Supermercado Eldons.

De regreso en la calle principal pasando Petrosun, la calle lo llevara por las afueras de Coxen Hole. Después 7 kilómetros manejando pasara Sandy Bay y vera a mano derecha la entrada de Anthonys Key. Aproximadamente 4 kilómetros después hay un giro a la izquierda con un letrero West Bay y Flowers Bay; tomar este giro a la izquierda. Después un kilómetro y medio verá un rotulo indicando West Bay a mano derecha. En ese momento estarán a 4 kilómetros de nuestra oficina.

Esta sección de la carretera ahora le llevará a lo largo de la cresta de la isla (vistas espectaculares) en dirección a West Bay. Se llega por una larga colina hasta que la carretera se aplana al nivel del mar de nuevo. A su derecha verá el West Bay Beach Mall en el lado de la carretera. Are beach towels included?

Yes, beach towels are included with each rental.

Are there hair dryers available?

A select few of our homes have hair dryers. Those with them have them listed in amenities. We suggest you bring one if you need it.

Is maid service included?

Maid service is included in the majority of our properties with a booking of 1 week or longer. This service includes fresh linens and towels and a general clean up of the home. Please do not expect your personal items to be organized or cleaned. Many homes offer the use of a washer and dryer, or laundry service at an extra cost. Please see the ‘notes’ section of each home for further information on maid service for that particular home.

Do you provide airport transportation?

We can set up your airport transfer for you. The cost is $30 for up to 4 people, $45 after that up to 8 people from the airport. Add an additional $5 on those prices if you are coming from the ferry. The driver will meet you with a sign at the airport/ferry and bring you to our office. He can also stop by the grocery store for an additional fee of $10.

Is a rental car needed?

For some of our locations a rental car is handy, for most it is not needed. Feel free to ask us during your booking process.

Are there mosquitoes/sand flies?

There are mosquitoes and sand flies. They affect some people, but not all. Please bring your preferred repellant. Many who’ve been here recommend Cutter Advanced. You may want to consider one of these natural products.

When is rainy season?

Rainy season is typically from October through November, but doesn’t mean it won’t be nice during those times or rain during other times. Mother nature is unpredictable!

Are there cash machines?

There are cash machines at various locations around the island. The most trusted machines are in the airport and in the West Bay Mall. Guests may find that machines may not have cash in them during high season when they are used frequently. You will receive money in Lempiras, the Honduran currency.

It is best to bring US dollars in $20 for general spending because it is easier to get change for these smaller denominations. Please make sure the bills are free of tears and markings, nearly all businesses are critical of damaged bills due to Honduran banking demands.

Is there a grocery store in West Bay?

There is no grocery store in West Bay, however for a small fee, we can arrange a personal shopper to deliver any groceries you may need during your stay. You can even choose to have your vacation rental fully stocked upon your arrival.

Do I need a passport to travel to Roatan?

Yes, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date. See more travel requirements here.

Is the electrical current the same as the US?

Yes, our current and plugs are the same as the US.
