Enjoyable Time to Reunite With Family I arrived from the West and my cousin arrived from the East, together we met at Roatan after not seeing each other for many years. Torgtuga gave us a 'home away from home' atmosphere. This new beach house includes numerous indoor amenities to make a relaxing holiday perfect (including an awesome housekeeper). Outdoor amenities include 24 hour security, groundskeepers and being steps from the world famous West Bay Beach. A pre-arranged driver was arranged for an airport pick up. With the help of the driver, groceries were purchased at a local supermarket. However, nightly supper was at one of many West Bay or West End restaurants/bars. Snorkelling on the reef right off the beach was incredible! The coral is so alive with colour and varieties of fish abundant. This property is vary spacious and CLEAN!

The agency that manages has very accommodating employees who are available to help with anything needed. The maintenance personnel that are always on duty during the day are also very helpful.

Roatan is paradise & this place made it even better. We've visited Roatan a number of time & always stayed in West Bay Village. This is a newer house so has all the comforts of home just a few steps from the best snokeling ever. My only caution has to do with the sand fleas. They have never been a problem in the past but I don't think the sand is raked as deeply and as close to the public beach area as it has been on our earlier visits. I got some very bad bites that caused extreme itching for days. If there is a spray that is effective, take it with you. I only got bites on the areas of my body that were not lying on the beach towel that covered my lounge chair so maybe that's the answer. In spite of that, this is my favorite place on earth!

Halfway through our vacation we were loving it so much, we booked for the following year at St. Mac's Upper Level. We can't wait to get back there! Thank you to St. Mac's and Island House Roatan for an amazing trip!

AMAZING! Already booked to return. We didn't know what to expect when we arrived on Roatan. We further didn't know what to expect of the house. What we found was a gorgeous beach house that literally sat on the sands of the beach with the calm, blue waters of the ocean right in front. The house was clean, modern, and absolutely charming. We spent a lot of time sitting on the deck that overlooked the beach - sleeping in the hammocks, reading under the ceiling fans that provided a cool breeze, or eating our meals at the table. The beach is lined with fun activities, bars, and restaurants. Dive shops are scattered around and easily accessible for incredible dives all day long. Or you can just walk into the water, swim out a little bit, and be in perfect snorkeling spots. The house was located in a little beach village called West Bay Village. A security guard stood at the beach entrance 24/7 and a closed gate was located on the back end. The village was well kept. Island House Roatan, the vacation rental agency, was very helpful and on hand at any time during the day.

The house was very well kept with all of the amenities of home. The folks at Island House Rentals were very accommodating and took care of any problems we had right away (for example when the grill ran out of propane).

Excellent Accommodation with great service. We spent 2 weeks in Gecko Loco over the holidays and loved it. The Island was wonderful with lots of activities nearby and the house was quite luxurious and well stocked. Without going more than a few minutes from the house we snorkeled, zip lined, went deep sea fishing, went horseback riding, swam at great beaches, and swam with dolphins. The house was very well kept with all of the amenities of home. We hope to return again one day.

Monkey Lala rocks !!!! The house was a dream !! Much better than what we imagined from pictures at the web site. Comfortable, well provided, decorated with taste and lots of local pieces of art and crafts. Thoughtful owners expected us with very much appreciated gifts upon arrival, thanks guys for the beautiful flowers and the cold Barenas!!!!. Definitely we will recommend the Monkey Lala as "the place" to stay when visiting Roatan. Way much better than one of the resorts or condos next door.

Perfect Location After searching and searching my husband and I finally decided on Casa Martin for our first visit to Roatan! All I can say is "wow". We sure spoiled ourselves! What a beautiful home and a perfect location! The only thing bad I can say is that it's a bummer we aren't able to rent it again for this years trip;)

Great beach vacay! We are here now and it couldn't be any better!! Great location and great beach!! Great beach house!! Close to everything but still plenty of privacy. Clean and comfortable. Would defiantly recommend and already planning to come back!!

Amazing Beach House My family of 4 (2 kids) stayed at Tortuga the last week of August - and thought it was a fantastic place to stay in West Bay! The property was clean, nicely decorated and well maintained. My kids fought daily over the walk-in shower in the 2nd bedroom. I had initially thought the tile floors throughout was a little odd - but after our first day in the water I realized the tile was a huge benefit - especially with kids! It's only a few steps to the best beach on Roatan - beautiful sand and only a short swim out to the reef. There are lots of restaurants in easy walking distance of West Bay Village - and a small shopping center nearby with a coffee/wine bar, small grocery, ATM and souvenir shop. The water taxi dock is also very close. We only got to enjoy the deck a little bit due to the hot temperatures - but it was great spot to set out our beach gear, and has amazing views of the water!

This beautiful vacation rental had all the comforts & conveniences of home, a few steps from West Bay beach. We knew nothing about Roatan, but were happy to discover this incredible beach & snorkeling destination. Being from NY, the travel time is long, but worth the effort. Because it is low season in August, West Bay was practically deserted, except when a few cruise ships stopped by. The weather was excellent - high 80s. The water was calm which was ideal for snorkeling from the beach - and trying Stand-up Paddle boards for the first time. For those who have to spend some time working remotely, the picturesque setting plus wifi made for a relaxing workplace.

Paradise Found! We had a group of 7 stay at Casa Martin and it was perfect! The house was spacious enough for all of us and had everything we needed. It is literally steps away from the water! The ground are very well kept. We did have minor issues with the sand flies but bug spray seemed to do the trick. We cannot wait to go back again!

One of the best vacations I have ever had! This was our first visit to Roatan and we were so happy with our stay at Ocho Palmas. There were 7 people in our party and the house had plenty of room. There are 4 incredible bedrooms that each have their own private bathroom......we slept like kings. The house itself has EVERYTHING you need. It's fully furnished (very tasteful) so you feel like you're right at home.....even in the kitchen with all modern appliances. There is a water purification system built in so you can drink the water and nobody had any issues. The infinity pool was one of our favorite hang out spots to cool off with a drink and enjoy the view of the Caribbean. If you want to just hang out, read, drink and relax in luxury/privacy then this is your place. There is a nice beach and great snorkeling that are about a 15 min walk from the house. I came back from Roatan feeling fully refreshed and relaxed. I didn't need a vacation after I had gotten back from my vacation! I highly recommend Ocho Palmas and would love to visit again.

We had a fabulous time in Ocho Palmas. I liked that we close to the WB Beach area with it's shops and restaurants, yet still able to drive a short distance back to the house and enjoy our total privacy. The house itself was beyond our expectations. Of course the beds were amazing, but the decor in every area of the house really added a nice touch. The kitchen had more dinnerware and gadgets than we have at home! We got a kick out of the place mat drawer; a place mat for every occasion. I was assured by Ruth, prior to booking, that the pictures of the house were accurate. Sometimes you're disappointed in the maintenance of your rental home, once you get there and really start looking around. Not so with Ocho Palmas. Everything was immaculate, inside and out. I think we've found our "go to" house in Roatan. This is the fourth home we've rented and I can't imagine finding anything nicer, more centrally located and just a true treasure to spend time in.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. Can't say enough about how well organized your company is. It made the the vacation that much more carefree. Only slight negatives were the power issues(not your fault) and the loss of the internet. These issues were of such slight regard that they didn't impact the vacation at all. Overall, loved Roatan, loved our house, loved our beach and deck, loved the diving. Can't wait to come back........soon!

We loved our stay in St. Mac's, both the front downstairs apartment and especially the upper apartment. Both were well appointed and comfortable. The beach and grounds were immaculate! The only way for my vacation to be improved is for me to have stayed longer. Truly did not want to leave. Cannot wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Dear Sam, Ruth & Brad, Often the defining element of a vacation rental is how the managers deal with issues or problems. We had a electrical issue, (Circuit Breaker needed replacement) and they responded as quickly as could be expected. They had an electrician onsite quickly, and even though a part had to be ordered, they were able to provide a short term repair that got the AC up and going until the part was available the next morning. I highly recommend both the Varadero unit and the staff at Island House Vacation Rentals, Ross

We had an excellent time staying in your Varadero unit. Everything was exactly as described, neat, clean, quiet and right on the beach. Beautiful view from the deck and living areas. I really rely on WiFi when traveling internationally, and often have a difficult time getting an adequate signal. The WiFi in Varadero was excellent. The communication prior to our stay and during check-in was much appreciated. I highly recommend both the Varadero unit and the staff at Island House Vacation Rentals, Ross

June 25, 2013-We spent a wonderful week at Gecko Loco (June 8-15) and I can't sing enough praises. The owners/property managers seemed to have thought of everything, from the well appointed kitchen, the multiple hooks in the bedrooms and bathrooms for hanging swimsuits/towels, the laundry baskets in each bedroom, the flashlights, playing cards, and tons of DVDs, not to mention the wonderful fresh flowers and welcome "amenities" upon arrival. The views from the decks were absolutely stunning and I found myself wanting to wake up much earlier than my normal vacation persona just to crawl in one of the hammocks. I spent many early morning hours with a book and a breeze before everyone else got up. That view is my "go to" happy place! But, the views of the sunsets from the other decks are just as amazing. This house has it all! The drive up is steep, and we laughed every time we drove our compact rental car up the hill. It is steep, but we had no real problems walking up and down from the neighborhood pool. The house has a security system and safe. We always felt secure in the house and the neighborhood and that meant alot. We're planning our trip back to Raotan for sometime next year and one of the deciding factors will be the availability of the this house.

What a great place! Snorkelling is awesome. Upper Barefoot Dream is a wonderful place to spend a vacation. Enjoyed the nice secluded porch. Ruth and Brad were very helpful, quick to answer emails when we had questions.

I'm writing this while we are still on island because it is such a rare find today. West Bay Village is total pleasure! You nearly always leave you flip flops at home. location is Right on the beach and the only need to wear them is on a trip to locale shops in West End. Sheekters and sand fleas are minimum if at all. Monkey LaLa was perfect, we had a couple of minor issues but the staff was on it right away to correct the issue best as possible, while here you must keep in mind this is a island in a third world,, so things don't move very quickly at times! But the experience not to be negative in any way, only made me appreciate what we have in the states much more. As a matter of fact my wife and I are actually considering retirement here!
